Michael Vick: Does Nike Endorsement Deal Show Public Is Ready to Forgive Vick?
Michael Vick has signed a new deal with Nike, according to Darren Rovell of CNBC. This is a huge accomplishment for Vick, and it shows just how far he has come.
However, does this new deal mean the public should forgive Vick of his wrongdoings?
The new deal comes four years after Vick pleaded guilty to federal dogfighting and gambling charges. Everybody knows what Vick did, and he rightfully went to jail for it. The man paid his time, and now he is trying to make his life right.

Nike is the powerhouse company when it comes to sports, and they have decided to take the gamble of signing Vick. Several people still despise Vick for what he did, but Nike has moved on.
"Michael acknowledges his past mistakes, said Nike spokesman Derek Kent. We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.
"
Vick has been moving in the right direction ever since he was released from prison. He has been working hard to restore his image on and off the field, and this Nike deal certainly helps.
I am of those people that hate what Vick did. I love dogs, and anyone that harms them deserves the punishment bestowed upon them. However, I am also all for second chances.
If a man wants to turn his life around and do things the right way then who am I to stop him? What kind of person would I be to bash Vick for wanting to lead a good life?
And the same goes for you. Obviously I'm not telling you how to life your life because everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it is time to stop the hatred toward Vick.
Forgive the man for his transgressions, but do not forget what he did. Too many times we forget the crimes or offenses of celebrities and or athletes because they comeback and win us over.
What Vick is doing with his life now is great. He is trying to be a better man, but people should never forget what he did. Remember his fall just as much as you remember his comeback.
I leave you with a quote from the 16th President of the United States. Abraham Lincoln once said, "If there is anything that a man can do well, I say let him do it. Give him a chance."
So give Vick a chance to live a better life.
