The Dream Is in the Cards for North American League Hopefuls

Devon TeepleApr 5, 2011

It’s that time of year again for unsigned athletes.

Tryouts for the North American Baseball League will be held May 1. The best thing about these tryouts: contracts are handed out at the end of the day.

And for the hopefuls looking to get noticed by Major League organizations, their scouts will be there as well, along with many others from a variety of baseball leagues.

How does this sound? Any Major League team that requested their scouting department to take part will have the opportunity to sign an eligible player during the two-day event.

With 12 teams in the newly formed league, the opportunity is there for the players with the most hustle and the most heart.

Many kids growing up don’t dream of playing Independent Professional baseball, yet sometimes this is the ideal way to go for those “diamonds in the rough” that were ignored by the system.

So, for anyone still chasing the dream or looking for that last shot at glory, come on out to Jackie Robinson Stadium in Pasadena California at 8:00 a.m. on May 1.

Remember this; play hard and give it 100 percent, because you never know who is watching.
