Miami Dolphins Need Fast Athletes for Success in 2011
Jeff Ireland has communicated to the Miami Dolphins' faithful that he wants field a "faster" team in 2011.
I agree, wholeheartedly..
However, I want to add an adjective to his list: The Dolphins also need to get more athletic through this draft.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Athletic: Percy Harvin, Wes Welker, Darren Sproles, Teddy Bruschi, Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas and Josh Cribbs.
Athletic: Colin Kaepernick, Jacquizz Rodgers, Casey Matthews, Rahim Moore, Nate Solder and Titus Young.
I think it's an obvious statement that the Dolphins need to trade out of the 15 spot.
I love that idea, because it would translate into a second-round pick. This would mean a playoff contender would give away a pick to move up.
It would be a strategic (and necessary) move to get a draft pick from a playoff contender.
As great as Ingram looks, the Dolphins need more teammates, not just one player.
Parcells, Ireland and Sparano have spent a considerable amount of time drafting and signing large, run-stopping defensive players. This would be the draft to bring athletes into the fold who are as complete as they are fast.
The defense has the size needed to stand their ground, but few athletes such as a Teddy Bruschi or Zach Thomas.
I love the aforementioned soon-to-be-rookies.
I've never been a big fan of Channing Crowder. I know the Dolphins are better with him than without, but not by much.
I hope A.J. Edds works out as they believe he might. Casey Matthews would be such a nice addition.
I believe the athletes mentioned are all within reach for the Dolphins in Rounds 1-4.
Cam Newton is not worth the picks needed to get him like most believe that Matt Ryan was (drafting Jake Long makes that pick a wash). The Dolphins just gave serious cash for one of the most athletic linebackers in Karlos Dansby, affirming the thought that the Dolphins need another to fill the spot next to him.
Vernon Gholston was fast, John Avery was also fast, Ted Ginn Jr. was lightening fast. No Mas, Gracias..
Jacquizz Rodgers is a multipurpose back who refuses to drop the ball. Seriously, the guy hasn't fumbled the ball in two years. Despite the fact that he's built like Darren Sproles.
Now, there are more athletes available at the end of April.
Don't get fast, get athletic.
