Ronde Barber: Will He Or Won't He Buc-Up In Tampa Bay?

Raheem Morris told us this week that Ronde Barber will be back as a Buccaneer this season.
Then lo and behold, Ronde Barber turns around and says that's not exactly right.
So will he or won't he?
Please don't tell us that Ronde Barber is turning into, (cough, cough) Brett Favre!
Please don't tell us that Ronde Barber is going to play one of those silly Brett Favre games.
Please don't tell us that Ronde Barber is going to crank up his own little soap opera over there at One Buccaneer Place.
Yes, if you didn't notice, Ronde had himself a really, really nice year last season. He was a bright spot on a defense that struggled early on, but somehow found a way to help this football team win without much of a defensive line.
Barber is now an unrestricted free agent and you have to ask yourself if he's really willing to go play somewhere else at this stage of his career.
Would a team out there be willing to overpay the aging Barber?
You would hope that Barber is beyond the mercenary stage.
"That's just my buddy Rah being my buddy Rah," was how he responded to Morris' delightful outburst that No. 20 would be back this year.
So hopefully this isn't Ronde posturing for more money.
He's already made more than he'll ever be able to spend.
So end the nonsense.
