Favre's Bret-Tirement 2011: Vikings, Are You Holding Your Breath?

Monday, just as we prepare to dig through the mountain of analysis of the NFL divisional round playoffs, Favre Bret-tires!!!!!

Amazingly, he has the power to file documents and suddenly have footage of his great plays begin to take up news space while great plays just happened right before our eyes.  Yes, today he pulled the trigger.  Brett Favre loves to be talked about at this time of the year and in all honesty, I am glad!!!

With so much meaningful football being played, why suddenly stop and look back at Favre when there are stunning efforts in live football games to discuss?

Favre was missed, but he was relegated to first thing to be talked about after the Super Bowl.  Now that the documents are filed in the week leading up to the AFC & NFC championships, Favre is front burner all the way!!!

Favre, we love you!!!!  You're a great quarterback!!!  Your ability to heave the rainbow and then throw a short yardage pick 6 in the same series is amazing.  Go straight into a job on TV. Maybe host Dirty Jobs instead of that guy who is on truck commercials!!

Last but not least, just because the Silver Fox filed those papers, it doesn't mean that there won't be throngs of media focused on him and his tractor later this summer.

Regardless, a part of football will be boring without Favre.  That said, even the best and the sturdiest guys in the game one day have to leave the field for good.
