Tampa Bay Buccaneers Lose Rich Bisaccia and That's Not Good

Tom EdringtonJan 12, 2011

There's been a lot to be happy about with these 10-6 Buccaneers, but now there's something that is unsettling at best.

Rich Bisaccia is gone.

And that's not good.

What's worse is that he left Tampa for San Diego and it was a lateral move, which tells us that Tampa's wonderful owners, those soccer-loving Glazer boys, are squeezing nickels again.

This one is hard to figure. Bisaccia was a staple of the coaching staff, he survived the Gruden purge and even carried the title of Assistant Head Coach.

Was fortunate to spend some time with him two summers ago and can tell you that Bisaccia is one very impressive football coach.

This team will miss him.

Raheem Morris is replacing him with Dwayne Stukes and it sounds like the good news for the Glazers in that Stukes will cost even less than Bisaccia.

That's fine, it's their team, but isn't it a good idea to strengthen the coaching staff?

We're still waiting for a new defensive line coach.

So finally there's some news that isn't very good.

And, oh by the way, if you were toying with the idea of adding a high-priced free agent, I'd say you'll be waiting a long time.

Keeping Bisaccia would have cost about what you spend on a game check for one of those guys.
