A Year In Sports 2010: Mike Vick, Drew Brees, LeBron James Highlight 2010
With the final day of 2010 officially here, we remember many of the top memories in sports; from the Saints winning the Super Bowl, to streaks being broken, there have been plenty of exciting memories in 2010 when it has come to sports.
We have also dealt with plenty of drama and scrutiny involving many of the top stars in sports.
What are my top 10 moments of this past sports year? Feel free to give your opinions and share your best memories from the past sports year!

10. Jim Joyce Blows Call, Perfect Game For Armando Galarraga
1 of 10
In one of the more gut-wrenching events during my time watching baseball, the perfect game for Armando Galarraga did not come to the ending that was expected by the viewers watching.
Umpire Jim Joyce missed the call at first base that not only cost this young player a historic perfect game but also began the trend of why baseball replay needs to be expanded (according to many writers).
However, it was good to see the aftermath of the imperfect game as well. Joyce and Galarraga have gotten over this play that went wrong and have apparently become good friends.
It was a shame to see the play go down, but it was even more exciting to see these two men put the past behind them and move forward.
9. The Fall Of Tiger Woods
2 of 10
Many athletes in 2010 have seen a dramatic fall in their historic figure. I don't think anyone has it worse than Tiger Woods though.
The scandal was a constant theme within the media which lasted for quite a few months.
Then you had the dreaded press conference and the commercial involving his father.
Most importantly, there was no success on the golf course amid this controversy.
Woods did not win a single major in 2010, as he intended to spend more time with his children.
Many people doubt whether Woods can return to his dominant form.
8. Brett Favre Throws INT In NFC Championship, Never Recovers In 2010
3 of 10
One of the biggest chokes in recent memory involved Brett Favre against the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Title game.
Favre threw an interception in overtime that resulted in a loss to the eventual champions, and a downfall on the months proceeding that.
We witnessed his return from retirement, then the issues with Jenn Sterger, along with his consecutive-games streak being snapped.
Overall, 2010 is a year Brett Favre never wants to remember.
7. March Madness 2010 Lives Up To Hype By Ending With Duke-Butler Thriller
4 of 10
March Madness 2010 lived up to the hype that the tournament provides every season.
Three of the top seeds in the tournament were upset by the Mid-Majors, who headlined the tournament as they usually do.
Instead, we saw a rare occasion this year. The king of the 2010 Mid-Majors, Butler, would take on the one of best programs ever in the Duke Blue Devils.
In the end, Butler gave all their energy into this game, which went down to the final shot. However, Coach K and Duke returned to the glory of being national champions.
6. Kobe, Los Angeles Lakers Repeat As Champs In Classic Series With Celtics
5 of 10
The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics battled against each other for an NBA Championship for the second time in three years.
In the end, Kobe Bryant led the charge as the Lakers repeated as champs.
The Lakers-Celtics rivalry has continued to make its way back up there as one of the top rivalries in all of sports.
The combination of Hall Of Fame players on both sides of the ball made the series that more interesting.
However, Kobe got another ring as he continues to improve his legacy when compared to the NBA greats.
5. UConn Women Basketball Breaks UCLA's All-Time Record Of 88 Consecutive Wins
6 of 10
Last week the UConn Women Basketball team did the unthinkable that was surrounding this team for quite some time: breaking the record of 88 consecutive wins held by the famous UCLA Bruins.
Granted, it may be women's basketball, but that does not excuse the magnitude of the victory. To end up winning 90 straight games is astonishing, especially with all the pressure this team faced.
Even though the streak ended by losing to Stanford last night, they will go down as one of the true dynasties in college sports.
4. World Cup Was The Greatest Sporting Event Worldwide In 2010
7 of 10
The FIFA World Cup was one of the more interesting sporting events I have watched in recent memory.
I am not a soccer fan by any means, but for the month of June, I can honestly say my sporting interest was dedicated to the World Cup.
People from all around the world not only came to South Africa, but watched their countries compete against each other.
Spain earned a long-waited World Cup trophy and capped off a month that has helped the interest in soccer grow in the United States.
3. The Comeback Of Michael Vick
8 of 10
The return of Michael Vick in 2010 as one of the league's best players is something I did not imagine.
Vick was able to put behind his troubled past and was able to perform at a very high level.
Despite the criticism he still receives for his crimes, Vick has owned up to it and is making sure he does not blow his second chance in the NFL.
He is my winner for NFL's Comeback Of The Player Year Award, putting the Philadelphia Eagles in a position to make a legitimate run at the Super Bowl.
2. LeBron James Headlines The Hype Of 2010 NBA Free Agency
9 of 10
The 2010 NBA Free Agency period was anticipated for years, with LeBron James leading the potential class of All-Stars.
LeBron James made the biggest splash of all, in front of national television with his former fans from Cleveland watching.
In the end James decided to team up with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh to form a Superteam in Miami.
The NBA landscape has changed in many ways as the result of this year's free agency period, as many other stars found new homes as well.
However, James went from being one of the more loved players in basketball to arguably the most hated man in sports.
1. New Orleans Saints Win Super Bowl
10 of 10
For me, the biggest sports moment of 2010 was the New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl.
The Saints had a successful regular season, and followed up their success by defeating Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
The city of New Orleans, who continue to battle the effects of Hurricane Katrina, look up to the Saints as the savior who sought to never give up until they achieved the ultimate goal.
One year later, the Saints are looking to repeat the same success as Super Bowl champions.
