Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Injury Report

Paul MuellerDec 18, 2010

The 8-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the 3-10 Detroit Lions Sunday at Raymond James Stadium with a potential playoff berth on the line for the Buccaneers, who are tied with the Green Bay Packers one game behind the New York Giants for the final wild card slot.

Only two players are listed on the Buccaneers’ injury report, both probable, but that does not mean they’re not without injury issues by any stretch.

The Buccaneers placed rookie defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and linebacker Quincy Black on injured reserve this week, marking the third consecutive week they have placed two starters on IR.

Adam Hayward and Dekoda Watson will fill in for Black at linebacker.

The Lions, meanwhile, are still mulling over who to start at quarterback.

Matthew Stafford has been ruled out and Shaun Hill is still fighting a broken knuckle on his right index finger. Drew Stanton took reps with the first team on Friday, but who starts will likely be a game-time decision.

"We're prepared for either way," Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan told
Tom Kowalski of mlive.com. "Drew took a lot of the reps and he has had a very good week, so we're very comfortable there.

"If Shaun wakes up on Sunday feeling like it's close to 100 percent—and it's getting there—I've been happy with how Shaun progressed this week. He did more today."

Detroit Lions

Out: QB Matthew Stafford (right shoulder).

Doubtful: LB Landon Johnson (neck).

Questionable: DE Cliff Avril (rib), LB Vinny Ciurciu (concussion), WR Brian Clark (not injury related), QB Shaun Hill (right finger).

Probable: RB Jahvid Best (toe), LB DeAndre Levy (groin), DE Turk McBride (ankle), RB Maurice Morris (chest).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Probable: WR Mike Williams (knee), TE Kellen Winslow (knee).

The Buccaneers host the Lions Sunday at 1 p.m. EST.
