In a year when the Cowboys were out of the playoff picture early, off-the-field news for the Dallas NFL team grabs headlines too.
Tony Romo is doing more than rehabbing his broken collarbone these days.
The injured Dallas Cowboys signal caller is engaged to be married to local sports reporter, Candice Crawford.
A wedding date has not been announced.
Romo has not played since breaking his clavicle during a 41-35 loss to the New York Giants on Oct. 25.
Crawford works as a sports reporter for KDAF-TV in Dallas.
The station reports that the 30-year-old player proposed to Crawford while the couple were celebrating her 24th birthday at a Dallas restaurant on Thursday.
Before working as a sports reporter for KDAF-TV in Dallas, Crawford won the 2008 Miss Missouri pageant.
Crawford is also a graduate of the University of Missouri journalism school.
