According to an article written by Mike Klis in this morning's Denver Post, CB Perrish Cox was arrested and held overnight by Lone Tree authorities.
The arrest was as a result of a sexual assault incident that allegedly happened in Lone Tree October 28.
After reviewing the case, the District Attorney’s Office filed charges and issued an arrest warrant against Cox. The case file is sealed to protect the identity of the alleged victim, so little else is known at this time.
Bronco Media Relations director Patrick Smith was quoted as saying ”We are aware of the reports and are currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts. We are taking this matter very seriously and are fully cooperating with every aspect of the process.”
This isn't Cox's only behavior issue. His draft value fell due to some incidents while in school at Oklahoma State, including being suspended for the Cotton Bowl game against Mississippi.
And so much for ex-head coach McDaniels only wanting "Character" guys on the roster. Given his past history, why McDaniels drafted him where he did is a mystery. Like a lot of other decisions he made.
And with the injuries to CB Andre Goodman and S Brian Dawkins, this leaves an already battered secondary further depleted.
I am aware that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, although it may not always apply to the NFL, but this has enough legs to cause an arrest and is another black eye on a NFL franchise that doesn't need anymore negative publicity.
