Josh McDaniels Fired: Responses To the News

0 of 10

Hee Hee. I just fartedNFL Photos/Getty Images

    Well that didn't last long.

Shortly after Josh Daniels was hired as Mike Shanahan's replacement on January 11, 2009 the controversy began. Starting with him being the youngest Head Coach in the NFL (at the time). In the end, it was too much for the Denver Broncos management to take.

He was FIRED Dec 6, 2010.

He almost made it two complete seasons and with that...let's reflect on the reactions that may be going on around the league.

Josh Mcdaniels Reacts!: I Did Everything William Would Have Done...Uh, Didn't I?

1 of 10

I love Billy. I want to be like him when I grow upNFL Photos/Getty Images /Getty Images

William being William Stephen Belichick, also known as Bill.

"I bossed people around, I seemed aloof, I wasn't approachable, I spied on other teams, I took up for "my guys", I tried, I tried, I tried!

What more could I have done?!"

How about be your own person. It seemed like he was trying to be something he wasn't the entire time. Now with him and Lane Kiffin both flaming out, I wonder if there will be a backlash against hiring younger coaches in the future.

(No disrespect to Raheem Morris, who's doing very well)

Bill Belichick: I Made You. YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT ME!

    YOU SUCK!Leon Halip/Getty Images

Awe come on Bill! Haven't your heard that imitation is the highest form of flattery? Don't be so hard on the kid. After all, he did try to act like you. He just doesn't have the same IQ and football knowledge that that you have to get away with it.

Don't worry Josh McDaniels fans, rest assured he'll find a job somewhere though. The worst coaches still do. (Wade Phillips)

SPYGATE Reacts!: You Ain't No Bill Belichick

3 of 10

I'm very disappointed in you young manChris Trotman/Getty Images

SPYGATE is also known as the "2007 National Football League (NFL) videotaping controversy".  This is when the New England Patriots were disciplined by the NFL for videotaping the New York Jets signals during a September 9, 2007 game from a sideline location.

On November 27, 2010 it was reported that Steve Scarnecchia, the team's director of video operations hired by Josh McDaniels in 2009, videotaped a San Francisco 49ers' walk-through practice. We'll call this, "Copycat Gate".

Results from SPYGATE? Bill Belichick took his team to the Super Bowl.

Results from COPYCAT GATE? Two back to back losses and McDaniels is FIRED!

Roger Goodell came down hard on Bill Belichick (sarcasm) and he came down hard on McDaniels (also sarcasm), but the real problem is the record. One is a multiple Super Bowl winning coach, the other has Head Coaching records of 8-8 and 3-9. It's harder to get away with stuff when you stink.

Maybe ole' Roger made a call to Broncos owner Pat Bowlan...speaking of Pat...(next slide please)

Kansas City Chiefs: Dang! We Had His Number

We beat you like our little brother!Jamie Squire/Getty Images

First they got his quarterback, Matt Cassell.

Then, in the 2009 season, when the Broncos just had to win one more game to get into the playoffs, the Chiefs beat them.

And this year, after COPYCAT GATE, and a desperately needed win for Josh McDaniels, the Chiefs beat him again.

The next day he was FIRED!

    Talk about Coach killers!

Broncos Owner, Pat Bowlan: Aw Crap!

When dealing with risky investments, there's a mantra that investors live by: "Cut your losses quickly"

Jan 11, 2009 Josh McDaniels HIRED

Dec 6, 2010 Josh McDaniels FIRED

From the get-go, Bowlan has been trying to take up for his young Head Coach.

"Oh, you think our star quarterback sucks and can't work in our system? You know what's best.

You'd rather have the quarterback on your old team than our star QB? You know what's best.

You wanna get rid of our star QB for Kyle who? Well, you know what's best.

You think our star wide receiver needs to be benched? Well, I support you.

You wanna get rid of our star wide receiver too? WELL, I guess you know what's best.

You think a college quarterback that no body thinks will be a good NFL QB should be one of our first picks in the draft? I guess I support you.

You spied on who and what? You'll still be around next year...oh, wait, phone call...Hello, Mr. Commissioner!"

Tim Tebow: Awe Doo-Doo!

Cow Dung! Coach got canned!Jamie Squire/Getty Images

"Oh no! Coach believed in me! If he's gone and nobody believes in me, then Christmas might not..."

    I'M KIDDING! CHILL OUT

One of Josh McDaniels big surprises was selecting Tim Tebow as the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

No one was expecting that and Tebow responded by saying, "My greatest joy in Denver, is going to be to repay Coach McDaniels for believing in me."

He didn't get the chance. Now he's just hoping that McDaniels' replacement isn't a "non-believer". (It's too easy)

Jay Cutler: AAHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA

Almost as soon as Josh McDaniels was hired on as the new Head Coach for the Denver Broncos, he made his feelings known that Jay Cutler, their quarterback of the future, was not his quarterback of the future.

Rumors swirled about him wanting to bring in Matt Cassell and eventually he traded for Kyle Orton. The locker room was divided and many players felt that McDaniels was more interested in ruffling feathers than building a strong locker room.

At the beginning of the 2009 season the decision looked like it was inspired as Kyle Orton started off the season having the best season of his career and Jay Cutler was playing like one of the worse quarterbacks in the league. By years end however, the ship started to right itself and the move began to look paltry. Enter the 2010 season, Broncos fans are rooting for the back up and Jay Cutler is leading his team to the playoffs.

Of course, Cutler wasn't the only star on the outs right away...(next slide please)

Brandon Marshall: Oh Great, Now You Fire Him!

Well, come on, you know that's the real reaction from both Cutler and Marshall. Laughter and "Good, serves him right."

Right after the Cutler incident Brandon Marshall started demanding a trade. He felt that Josh McDaniels was out of touch with the players and was too degrading, disrespectful and a tyrant.

Marshall played his heart out despite his coach and went to another team in the offseason.

Broncos Players: Yeeehaaaw!

The strip clubs in Denver were packed out! Parties in the hills, baby!

It's no secret that Josh McDaniels was not well liked in the locker room. Well, except for Tim Tebow, Kyle Orton, and maybe Knowshon Moreno.

It's jubilation like when Hitler went down in World War II.

Broncos Fans: Na Na Na Na! Hey Hey Hey! Good-Bye!

    Answer: "Fire Josh McDaniels"
