Chris FaigNov 25, 2010

As we approach the final six weeks of the NFL season, fantasy football owners everywhere are trying to make their final moves to solidify their shot at the league championship.

Surprisingly, there are still a bevy of gems available, such as Matt Cassel, in leagues all over who can be valuable assets to your squad.

In Week 12 the following players will either continue or begin to make serious contributions in terms of fantasy football.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills

Fantasy Points Last Week: 27.74 at Cincinnati Bengals

After losing their first eight games, the Buffalo Bills have gained some momentum winning their last two outings.

Ryan Fitzpatrick had a huge performance in Week 11, completing 21 of 34 passes for 316 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

This week against the 7-3 Steelers he will be tested a bit more, but will surprise many with another productive day.

Expect at least a 25 fantasy points performance.

Week 12 Opponent: v. Pittsburgh Steelers

QB Rusty Smith, Tennessee Titans

Rusty Smith is a rookie quarterback out of Florida Atlantic, who was selected 176th overall, in the sixth round, by the Tennessee Titans in this years NFL Draft.

Smith saw his first bit of action as a pro last week when Vince Young injured the thumb on his throwing arm.

In overtime, the Titans lost to the Washington Redskins with Smith completing three of nine passes for 62 yards and an interception.

It was not a great debut performance, but, knowing that he will be the starting quarterback in Week 12 Smith should shock many.

Do not be surprised if you see Rusty Smith all over ESPN Monday morning for his stellar performance the prior night.

Week 12 Opponent: at Houston Texans

WR James Jones, Green Bay Packers

Fantasy Points Last Week: 11.10

In three of his last four games, James Jones has recorded double-digit fantasy numbers.

Jones has increased his productivity with the last few weeks, proving to be a reliable target for Aaron Rodgers.

As opponents begin to mainly concentrate on Greg Jennings because of his dominant play of late, Jones shall receive a larger role in the Green Bay offense.

Week 12 Opponent: at Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy Points Last Week: 15.72

Matt Cassel is only owned by 45.6 percent of fantasy owners, according to ESPN, but he has been putting up some impressive numbers.

In his last six games Cassel has thrown for 14 touchdowns and only one interception.  So if you are in need of a Quarterback, Cassel is your guy.

He's been extremely consistent this season and is available in most leagues.

Add number seven to your team and, unless you have a Peyton Manning type QB, don't be afraid to start him.

Cassel and the Chiefs have a fairly easy remaining schedule, so the 6'4'' quarterback out of USC should have good fantasy numbers for the rest of the season.

Week 12 Opponent: at Seattle Seahawks

WR Donald Jones, Buffalo Bills

Fantasy Points Last Week: 13.10

The 22-year-old undrafted rookie out of Youngstown State had a breakthrough performance last week, making five receptions for 70 yards and his first touchdown as a professional in the National Football League.

Due to Roscoe Parrish's season ending injury, Donald Jones has been seeing some playing time in the last three weeks.

With a big game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, you can expect Donald Jones to continue playing more of an increased role for the Buffalo Bills.
