NFL Picks Week 12: Thanksgiving Football 2010, Predictions for Every NFL Game
Happy Thanksgiving! Let's enjoy a day of Thanksgiving Football 2010!
Here are my picks for all 16 games for Week 12 of the 2010 NFL season.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the New Orleans Saints can end the Dallas Cowboys glimpse of promise today.
Moreover, will Philip Rivers' Chargers be able to take on Peyton Manning's Colts? Will the 49ers keep their playoff hopes alive with a win against the Cardinals on Monday Night Football?
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 11-5
Cumulative Season Record: 90-70 (.563)

New England Patriots (8-2) @ Detroit Lions (2-8)
1 of 16
Winner: New England Patriots
Hopefully this game game will be more competitive than the ones in recent history. If not, the NFL may need to find a new Thanksgiving tradition.
This game will be broadcast at 12:30 P.M. EST on CBS
New Orleans Saints (7-3) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-7)
2 of 16
Winner: New Orleans Saints
I see the defending Super Bowl champions breaking the existing trends in this one.
By the way, did you know that the Saints boast the fourth-best scoring defense in the NFL?
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EST on FOX on Thursday Night Football
Cincinnati Bengals (2-8) @ New York Jets (8-2)
3 of 16
Winner: New York Jets
The Bengals won't win this game, but if Terrell Owens or Chad Ochocinco scores a touchdown, you can nearly guarantee they'll have an interesting celebration in store.
Note, this is a rematch from last year's playoffs and Week 17, in which Darrelle Revis absolutely shut down the Bengals aerial attack.
This game will be broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EST on NFL Network on Thanksgiving.
Green Bay Packers (7-3) @ Atlanta Falcons (8-2)
4 of 16
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are undefeated at home this season, and I don't expect that to change.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on FOX.
Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) @ Buffalo Bills (2-8)
5 of 16
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
Frankly, the Buffalo Bills don't stand a chance in this one. Their league-worst run defense stands no chance against the Steelers 11th-ranked ground game
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on CBS.
Carolina Panthers (1-9) @ Cleveland Browns (3-7)
6 of 16
Winner: Cleveland Browns
The Carolina Panthers are in complete disarray, and I don't see how they can keep up with the improving Cleveland Browns squad that features emerging talents such as quarterback Colt McCoy and running back Peyton Hillis.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on CBS
Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4) @ New York Giants (6-4)
7 of 16
Winner: New York Giants
The New York Giants may have slipped over the past couple of weeks, but they should rebound with a win here.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on CBS
Minnesota Vikings (3-7) @ Washington Redskins (5-5)
8 of 16
Winner: Minnesota Vikings
Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but Leslie Frazier will get his first win as an official NFL head coach this week.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on FOX
Tennessee Titans (5-5) @ Houston Texans (4-6)
9 of 16
Winner: Houston Texans
The Tennessee Titans have been riding a rough road lately. Randy Moss has one reception in two games, quarterback Vince Young and head coach Jeff Fisher have major conflicts and offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger has been diagnosed with cancer.
Therefore, I think it'd take a miracle to muster up the strength to get a win.
This game will be broadcast at 1:00 P.M. EST on CBS.
Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) @ Seattle Seahawks (5-5)
10 of 16
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
The Cardinals, Rams and 49ers are desperately hanging on to their playoff aspirations, hoping that the Seahawks lose this game so that they can live another day.
Fortunately for them, I think the Seahawks lose.
This game will be broadcast at 4:05 P.M. EST on CBS
Miami Dolphins (5-5) @ Oakland Raiders (5-5)
11 of 16
Winner: Oakland Raiders
Was last week a fluke, and do the Oakland Raiders get back to their dominance this week?
I sure think so.
This game will be broadcast at 4:05 P.M. EST on CBS
St. Louis Rams (4-6) @ Denver Broncos (3-7)
12 of 16
Winner: Denver Broncos
After a nice start, the St. Louis Rams have been free-falling and don't seem like they'll reverse their path anytime soon.
But that's okay, as they've already quadrupled their win total from last season.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EST on FOX
Philadelphia Eagles (7-3) @ Chicago Bears (7-3)
13 of 16
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, we should find out the answer to that question and more with the outcome of this game.
I'm going with the Eagles in this one.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EST on FOX
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) @ Baltimore Ravens (7-3)
14 of 16
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
This will be the ultimate test for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Can they step up to the plate and play along with the league's best?
Personally, I don't think they're ready just yet.
This game will be broadcast at 4:15 P.M. EST on FOX
San Diego Chargers (5-5) @ Indianapolis Colts (6-4)
15 of 16
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
The San Diego Chargers have a mere one win on the road this season, and I don't think their next will come against the Colts.
This game will be broadcast at 8:20 P.M. EST on NBC on Sunday Night Football
San Francisco 49ers (3-7) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-7)
16 of 16
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
If there's one team that's looked worse than the 49ers, it's the Arizona Cardinals.
You know what the strange thing is? If everything goes as I predict, the 49ers would only be one game out of the NFC West and ultimately a playoff berth.
This game will be broadcast at 8:30 P.M. EST on ESPN on Monday Night Football
