Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire: Players To Cut From Your Fantasy Team
For so many years Donovan McNabb was a good fantasy quarterback when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles. It was almost a guarantee that if you had him on your team youโd start him every week. Now McNabb has moved on to the Washington Redskins, who are in transition under first-year coach Mike Shanahan.
With just six touchdowns in six games this season, McNabb has lost his fantasy value, and in a lot of cases isnโt even a good spot starter.
Thatโs why McNabb is one of the 11 players that makes our Week 8 Fantasy Football Waiver WireโCut Them Loose List.

Donovan McNabb (Washington Redskins)
Aside from throwing just six touchdowns in six games this year, Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb just hasnโt quite looked like his old self. Transitioning to a new team is never easy on a veteran quarterback, but McNabbโs consistency isnโt there anymore either.
In the last two weeks heโs thrown two touchdowns with four interceptions. Other than wide receiver Santana Moss and tight end Chris Cooley, there just arenโt any consistent receiving options for McNabb.
It begs the question: Are McNabbโs best years behind him? That remains to be seen, but for now he is no longer a legitimate fantasy option and should be cut in favor of somebody who can boost your team.
Louis Murphy (Oakland Raiders)
In the first three weeks it appeared that Oakland Raiders receiver Louis Murphy was going to break out in his second year in the league.
In Weeks 2 and 3 he combined for 11 catches for 210 yards and a touchdown. However, since then Murphy has caught just six passes for 99 yards and no touchdowns in four games. Thatโs good enough to cut it as a WR3 in standard leagues, and now that Jason Campbell is back at quarterback, Murphyโs situation doesnโt stand to improve.
Campbell is too inconsistent from game to game. Thereโs a number of receivers available on the waiver wire worth picking up in favor of Murphy. Donโt hold out hope that heโll start putting up numbers like he did in the first three weeks.
Nate Washington (Tennessee Titans)
For some reason Tennessee Titans receiver Nate Washington is owned almost 50 percent of standard leagues. Heโs got three catches in the past three weeks, and in each of the last two games heโs had single-digit receiving yards.
Perhaps this has something to do with the emergence of Kenny Britt. Britt has scored at least one touchdown in each of the teamโs last five games, including last weekโs win over the Philadelphia Eagles when he caught seven passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Now that Britt has emerged, Washington takes a back seat and likely wonโt catch more than a pass or two a game. If youโre still holding on to him, itโs time to dump him.
