Fantasy Football Week 6: 2-Star Players You Should Bench

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballOct 16, 2010

Wondering who you should keep on your bench in Week 6 of the fantasy football season? Take a look at our Fantasy Football Sit 'Em suggestions to find out...

Matt Schaub (Houston Texans) vs. Kansas City

The last two weeks have not been so good for Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. Yes, he has two touchdowns and just one interception in that time but heโ€™s also completed just 50.7 percent of his passes. And last week the Texans scored just 10 points in a loss to the New York Giants.

The Kansas City Chiefs defense has been a bend but donโ€™t break unit this year, giving up a decent amount of yards, however, typically holding strong in the red zone. The Chiefs have yet to give up more than 20 points in a game, and average giving up just 14.2 points per game. Last week they limited the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Peyton Manning to just 244 passing yards and no touchdowns.

While Schaub has the tools to breakout in a big way, this Houston offense looks out of sorts and should be up for a big challenge against Kansas City. At some point this season we expect Schaub and the Texans to right the ship.

However, if you have another quarterback in a good matchup on your roster donโ€™t be afraid to pull the trigger and bench Schaub this week.

Jahvid Best (Detroit Lions) @ New York Giants

Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best has a lot going for him and appears to be the playmaking running back the team has sought for years. Yet he has not found the end zone since Week 2 and is dealing with turf toe injuries to both feet. Fellow Lions running back Kevin Smith has returned to action in the last two weeks from his ACL injury, and Best did not practice this week though the Lions have stated he should be good for the game.

Playing at the New York Giants is a terrible matchup for a less-than-100 percent Best. In the last two weeks the Giants defense has given up only 83 rushing yards in wins over the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans despite facing guys like Matt Forte and Arian Foster.

Best is dealing with an injury, could see some of carries go to Smith and is playing against a red-hot defense.

That means he shouldnโ€™t be in your starting lineup.
