On Sunday, September 26th Bank of America Stadium will be invaded by the Cincinnati Bengals when they take on the host Carolina Panthers at 1:00 ET. This is only the fourth installment in series history with the Carolina winning two of the first three. Last week, Cincinnati won a hard fought battle against Baltimore 15-10 in Cincinnati as 1-point underdogs, while the Panthers lost 20-7 to the Buccaneers as 3-point home chalk.

Point Spread: Oddsmakers have the Panthers currently sitting at (+3) with the game ‘total’ set at 38.

Carson Palmer threw for only 167 yards for an offense that ranks 8th in passing as the only bright side for an offense that ranks 21st in rushing while gaining only 94 yards in Week 2. The offense was able to convert 14 first downs and went a putrid 3-for-18 on third down tries. Their T.O.P. was 34:16 and they didn’t turn the ball over. Their defense that ranks 15th against the pass and 18th against the run, stepped it up in a very defensive minded game on both ends intercepting QB Joe Flacco four times while sacking him once and allowing just 263 yards of total offense.

Carolina has decided to start rookie QB Jimmy Clausen in Week 3 after two mediocre weeks from Matt Moore. This could be good or bad news for an offense that ranks 27th in passing and 16th in rushing entering Week 3. Their offense had 184 yards through the air and 119 on the ground while WR Steve Smith led the team with 66 yards receiving with a TD as the only bright spot in a rough home loss to the Bucs. They converted 16 first downs but only 5-of-16 third down attempts. They turned the ball over three times and had a T.O.P. of 29:11. The defense allowed 178 passing yards and 95 yards on the ground.

The Bengals have been a $$$-maker in Week 3 encounters cashing all five of their L/5 times ATS, but have been a $$$-burner on the road covering just once in five tries. Carolina has failed to cover each of its L/5 September games, but has rallied for its betting backers going 11-5 ATS the L/16 times it played off a double-digit home loss. is your one stop shop for 2010 week 3 NFL football picks!
