Wow, what a day for me to start writing here.

At 5:15 a.m. this morning, Braylon Edwards was driving drunk. Ignoring his magical 8:15 a.m. Tweet for a second, since the arrest was confirmed by the Jets, it’s safe to assume that he was up all night, drunk driving at 5:15 a.m., and then got arrested and spent time in jail.

To me, there are a few points to be looked at here:

What was he doing out drunk at 5:15 a.m.?

They say nothing good happens after midnight.

If that’s true, then I highly doubt anything good happens when you drink through midnight to 5:15 a.m. and then go out driving. But that’s obvious, so let’s look beyond that.

Two weeks ago, the offense looked sluggish in practice. Later that week, they had a pathetic offensive performance in which Edwards himself was almost invisible, catching one ball for nine yards. Now, I know that today is Tuesday, meaning he probably wasn’t doing anything.

But if I’m Rex, the thing that would piss me off is that Braylon can’t even pretend he’d rather repeat the domination against New England than repeat the disaster against Baltimore, as being drunk can’t be good for sluggishness.

And if I’m Sanchez, I’m pissed that I’m watching film of the same people who will be covering Braylon today, when he likely wasn’t going to and instead was drinking the night away.

Not two people you want to piss off, the guy that throws you the ball and the guy that coaches him.
