Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
He touches on how poor the officiating always is in Olympic basketball games and I've always thought that was an overlooked aspect of Team USA's train wreck in Athens. The role the referees played in the '04 loss to Argentina was uncanny. They single-handedly neutralized Tim Duncan when he was probably the best basketball player in the world at that time. I remember seeing Stephon Marybury getting undercut on a layup and landing on his head and there being no whistle (the single worst call or no-call I've ever seen). Team USA probably wasn't going to win gold either way and rightfully so but with those officials they didn't stand a chance. Don't think for a second the referees won't play a role in this year's games as well.
