AFC East betting action comes to New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday, September 19th at 4:15 ET, when the New York Jets play host to the division rival New England Patriots. Last year, the two teams split the season series with the home team winning both times. The Jets won the first game in New Jersey 16-6 as 3.5-point underdogs and the Patriots more than returned the favor in the second go round in New England winning and covering as 11-point chalk, 31-14.
Point Spread: Head Coach Bill Belichick’s Patriots currently sit as three-point favorites with the game ‘total’ set at 38.

The Patriots and QB Tom Brady looked in mid-season form when they took the field in Week 1. They beat the Bengals 38-24 and covered as 5-point favorites with the game playing to the ‘over’. Tom Brady threw for 258 yards and three TD’s while completing 25-of-35 passes. WR Wes Welker returned from a leg injury last season to haul in eight catches including two TD’s. Randy Moss made five grabs for 59 yards. Brandon Tate made his presence felt, with 184 return yards including an exciting 97-yd kickoff return for a TD. LB Gary Guyton led the defense with a 59-yd INT return for a TD.
Jets fans should be disappointed with the Jets terrible performance in Week 1. The best way to sum it up would be QB Mark Sanchez managed to only throw for 74 yards, while RB LaDainian Tomlinson sadly led the team with only 62 rushing yards and two catches for 16 yards. WR Jericho Cotchery was the leading receiver with a pitiful two catches. The offense was horrible fumbling the ball three times, they lost the first down battle 20-6 and the team had 14 penalties for 125 yards. If there was one bright spot, it was K Nick Folk going 3-for-3 in field goals to account for the Jets entire offense.
The Patriots and their betting backers love it when the “Brady Bunch” invades the Big Apple as New England stands a dominant 9-2 SU & 10-1 ATS their L/11 trips. New England is also 3-1 SU & ATS the L/4 times it was installed a road favorite of three-points or less. New York’s shown a knack of bouncing back quickly from a MNF battle going 10-3-1 ATS the L/14 times. They are however just 3-8 SU & ATS following a loss both outright and against the closing number.
