Moving Today's Market

When Joel Pineiro (3-5, 5.04 ERA) takes the mound against the Dodgers tonight, it could be his last start in a Cardinals uniform with Adam Wainwright close to returning to the rotation. Pineiro has struggled, allowing 10 hits in four consecutive starts and has failed to hold the lead in 16 of his 18 chances. He faces two recent Dodger acquisitions that have had success against him. Manny Ramirez has a .423 batting average with three home runs against Pineiro, and Casey Blake is batting .400 with one home run. Derek Lowe (8-9, 3.70 ERA) gets the start for the Dodgers. Pinnacle opened this game as a pick but has since moved to -131 for Los Angeles. There were two Steam Moves triggered at ABC and Grande for the Dodgers. The Rangers look to win their third game in this four-game series against the Yankees as they send rookie Tommy Hunter (0-0, 10.80 ERA) to the mound. Hunter looks to improve on his Major League debut after allowing six runs on eight hits in five innings pitched against the Blue Jays last Friday. The Rangers have won three straight and are five games behind the Red Sox in the wild card standings. Sidney Ponson (6-2, 4.23 ERA) makes his seventh start since joining the Yankees, and has posted a 2-1 record with a 4.81 ERA. Over 80 percent of the bets are on the Bronx Bombers and the line has shown significant movement as Pinnacle opened at -113 for New York and is now at -128. There were numerous amount of Smart Money plays on the Rangers.

The Blue Jays opened at -104 and has since climbed to -131 versus the Athletics. A possible reason for this was the Athletics promoting Gio Gonzalez from Triple-A Sacramento to make his debut and start tonight's game. Phillies opened at -154 against the Marlins and has moved to -137.
