The Oakland A's Have Changes To Make.......Soon!

The Oakland A's have a huge change to make. It also doesn't have anything to do with the call up of Gio Gonzalez. The change is getting rid of manager Bob Geren. The only question is when? Every A's fan is thinking sooner rather then later.

Geren hasn't done a thing since the A's started sputtering right after the all-star break. The A's have looked pitiful since the break. No changes really have been made in his approach to win games. The difference from the first half is that A's pitchers know they aren't going to get much run support from the A's offense. So, they have struggled because they are trying to be perfect and not give up any runs.

There has been no adjustments by A's hitters. There's only 3 players with 10 or more homeruns. Players that should be leaders such as Mark Ellis and Bobby Crosby haven't shown up. There defense has cost at least 3 games due to indecision.

It seems like the A's are playing like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. There's been no leadership as stated earlier and it seems like they find ways to lose. Geren hasn't been too hard on players and that shows because during this 16 game stretch where the A's are 2-14 the players are playing with no passion and it seems the club has given up on the season and that's all on Bob Geren. It's obvious none of the players want to play with him leading the club.

I haven't seen an A's team struggle like this since Tony Larussa left the team. Billy Beane may have given Geren the chance since they are good friends, but it's obvious Geren doesn't belong in the major leagues. With Geren it makes A's fans miss Macha and Howe because at least their teams played hard every game.

So, Billy Beane General Manager of the Oakland A's it's time to fire Geren and while we are at it Ty Van Burkleo can be fired as well. It's time to bring in a coach who will instill that winning is very important and that he will get into your face if you make a mistake and let the player know about it.
