Leinart Pullling a Cutler in Arizona

Trade Rumors Begin

Matt Leinart is slowly coming apart. After being benched as the starter in favor of NFL veteran Derek Anderson, Leinart lashed out with plenty of e-motion at Coach Ken Whisenhunt regarding his d-motion. “"I feel like I've outplayed the competition, training camp, preseason," he said."I think my play speaks about that. For me, this goes beyond the football field.”

Really Matt? You actually feel like maybe Coach Whisenhunt is being unfair to you? That maybe this is more of a personal vendetta, rather than actually fielding the best team to vie for a third title and Coach “Whiz” would be willing to sacrifice wins, another NFC title, and possibly his stellar reputation to pick on you?  It sounds like Matt has been drinking from the Jay Cutler tea.  After all, was it not that long ago, that a certain starting QB in Denver got his feelings hurt when he heard that maybe there might be some competition at quarterback?  Cutler ended up demanding a trade, which Denver Coach Josh McDaniels happily granted and McDaniels has not looked back since.  Coach Whisenhunt would be smart to do the same, cut the cancer from the team now.  He has a solid and proven starter in Derek Anderson, even though he may be a little inconsistent, and the back ups, John Skelton and Max Hall have proven they can be adequate as a back up.  Mark my words for the future; if the Cardinals continue to invest in Max Hall, this guy can turn out to be a gem worth keeping. With the talent Hall has shown in the preseason, quarterbacks coach Chris Miller can really make sure Hall is adequately prepared and ready to take over the starting duties, should Anderson have a catastrophic failure. 

"The philosophy is you want the best 11 guys to play. I feel like I've proved that with my performance. I don't really know what else I could possibly do, so it probably goes beyond football. For me, I just really want an explanation and I haven't been given one."

Dear Matt, Coach Whisenhunt would love to give you an explanation, one catch though, you first have to ask him for one, rather than wailing to the media about how unfair the Arizona Cardinals are being to you. 

Obviously, I haven't played as much as I'd like." Also, just as obvious Matt, you need to make some first downs to play more.  Right.

Gauging by his reaction, Matt has shown once again that he lacks both the character and resiliency to assume the leadership role so many had hoped he would have by now. 

So… who’s up for a trade?
