Moving Today's Market

Detroit Tigers look to end a four-game losing streak and try to catch the White Sox in the AL Central. The Tigers are 6.5 games back in the division.

Detroit sends Nate Robertson (6-8, 6.06 ERA) to the mound against Gavin Floyd (11-6, 3.43 ERA). Floyd has struggled since the All-Star break, going winless in three straight starts before turning it around last Wednesday when he allowed only one run on four hits over 7 2/3 innings against the Twins. He is 2-0 with a 2.79 ERA against Detroit this season and has posted a 7-2 record with a 2.49 ERA in 11 starts at home.

Pinnacle opened at -142 in favor of the White Sox and has since moved to -138.

Another interesting divisional matchup is Josh Johnson (1-0, 4.18 ERA) and the Marlins against Jamie Moyer (10-6, 3.79 ERA) and the Phillies.

The 45-year-old lefty pitcher is 10-0 all-time against the Marlins. The Phillies need a solid performance against Florida, who enter Tuesday's series only 2 1/2 games back and can take over the lead in the NL East with a sweep.

The majority of the sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights has the line around -145 for Philadelphia. Only around 65 percent of the bets are on Moyer to stay undefeated against a divisional rival.

The last intriguing matchup is the Dodgers visiting St. Louis. Chris Carpenter (0-0. 2.25 ERA) makes his second start of the season against Chad Billingsley (11-9, 3.05 ERA).

Carpenter looks to get past four innings in his first home start since undergoing Tommy John surgery, but will still be on a limited pitch count. Billingsley is 7-2 in his last nine starts, but faces a St. Louis team that has dominated Los Angeles.

The Dodgers have only won five of the last 20 meetings and lost eight of the last nine at Busch Stadium.

Billingsley and the Dodgers are slightly favored by most sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights, and 56 percent of the bets are on Los Angeles.
