Oakland Raiders: Three Reasons Why They Will Dominate the 49ers

Yusuf HassanAug 25, 2010

Saturday night the Raiders and 49ers will battle. Most NFL analyst predict the 49ers to win and have a better season than the Raiders.

I, however, challenge those notions. I've listed my top 3 reasons why the Raiders will win on Saturday.

Nnamdi Asomugha Will Shut Down Crabtree

1 of 3

Nnamdi Asomugha is the best cover corner in the league and Crabtree is a good receiver, not the best.

Look for Asomugha to blanket Crabtree the entire time they are on the field.

The Raiders Front Seven Will Pressure Alex Smith

2 of 3

The Raiders pass rush will be too much for 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.

Expect Smith to be frustrated by Nnamdi Asomughs coverage on Michael Crabtree that will create coverage sack opportunities for the Raiders front 7.

Against the Cowboys in Week 1 of the preseason Tony Romo was frustrated by the pressure.

In game 3, Smith has two options: Take the risk of challenging Asomugha or Take a pounding.

The Raiders Run Game

3 of 3

In 2009, the San Francisco 49ers were tauted as a strong running team.

The Raiders however, averaged more running yards a game than the 49ers.

Look for the Raiders to run to the left behind Jared Veldheer and Robert Gallery.
