Tired.........tired of hearing and reading how the Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Line is sub-par or down right awful.  I thought I would offer this food for thought on a possible upgrade for the Black & Gold.

As you may be aware, Logan Mankins, is in a stalemate with the New England front office and is prepared to sit out the entire year because of a contract dispute.  It is reported that Mankins wants:

"In an interview with ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss in June, Mankins said "I want to be traded. I don't need to be here any more."

According to reports, Mankins is seeking a contract similar to the Saints' Jahri Evans, who received a seven-year, $56.7 million contract this off-season."

The Patriots have bulked at this and seem willing to move on without Mankins.  This week they signed Quinn Ojinnaka to take his place so I don't see this getting resolved without an intervention from another team (AKA-Pittsburgh Steelers).

It has been said by many that Trai Essex is the weakest link on the Steelers Line so why not do something about it?  A possible trade for Mankins could really help Pittsburgh with their pass & run blocking.  Imagine this Offensive Line and tell me if they would still be considered weak?

LT-MAX STARKS-has been a solid starter for years

LG-LOGAN MANKINS-solid and reliable

C-MAURKICE POUNCEY-rookie sensation

RG-CHRIS KEMOEATU- inconsistent but improving

RT-FLOZELL ADAMS-needs a little time to adjust to the right side but I think he will get it.

With the money freed up by the release of Essex & Hartwig the Steelers should have no problem getting into the ball park of what Mankins wants for a contract.

I will let you all be the judge though.
