Vincent Jackson Up for Trade: Which Teams Should Go After the Receiver?

Old AccountAug 21, 2010

As NFL preseason is in full force, multiple sources confirm that the San Diego Chargers are more serious about dealing Pro Bowl receiver Vincent Jackson.

Jackson reportedly received permission to talk a contract with the Seattle Seahawks, who showed interest months ago.

However, there are three teams, including the Seahawks, who are the perfect fit for Jackson's services.

Feel free to give me your thoughts, and most importantly, give me a follow on twitter!

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars believe they are America's team. Well, adding Vincent Jackson would make them a bigger threat in a deep AFC conference.

Jackson would become the number one target for the Jags, giving receiver Mike Sims-Walker more single coverage opportunities.

Most importantly, it creates a feared balance attack, thus keeping Maurice-Jones Drew fresh throughout the 16-game season.

A move is needed to energize the fan base, and Vincent Jackson may be going in that direction.

3. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are the apparent team that is rumored to be talking a contract with Vincent Jackson, and it is worth a shot.

TJ Houshmanzadeh hasn't lived up to his contract, and has proved to be much suited as a number two option.

Vincent Jackson will relieve more pressure off Matt Hasselbeck, who is getting up in age.

Being in the NFC West, adding Jackson can only improve Seattle's chances of a hopeful playoff run this year.

2. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins have been rumored as one of the two teams that should be knocking on the Chargers' door already, and they do have reason.

Santana Moss doesn't put fear into many defenses as the number one receiver. Chris Cooley is returning from injury, and who knows how productive he will be right away.

Despite a new general manager and head coach, the Redskins won't be scared of going after another star, and Vincent Jackson may be the piece that makes them a bigger threat in the NFC.

I think not only are the Bears Jackson's best fit, but the Bears are the team with the biggest need at wide receiver.

Despite the young talent at the receiver position, none have proven to be a feared No. 1 target.

Vincent Jackson would create much improvement for Jay Cutler and the Mike Martz offense.

The Bears didn't shy away from bringing in stars such as Julius Peppers and Chestor Taylor.

Adding Vincent Jackson wouldn't hurt, especially with many jobs on the line in Chicago this year.
