Brett Favre Is Back | 2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings

It took Brett Favre until the middle of August to make his decision to play for the Vikings for the second year in a row. While the media tried to suggest that Favre would retire earlier this month, I think most NFL fans realized it was just news for the press to have something to talk about.
Now, Favre will make another run at winning a championship, and the Vikings have a chance at the win that they wouldn't have had without him.
Fantasy Impact
Since I never thought that Favre was actually going to retire this season, I’ve had Sidney Rice as a clear top-15 fantasy receiver this summer. Rice and Percy Harvin need to stay healthy but they both proved to be solid fantasy options with Favre.
As long as Rice keeps progressing and is on track to play the opening game of the season, he should be a nice No. two fantasy receiver for your team. As for Harvin, he would make for more of a No. three, or flex play option, because of his migraine problems.
Harvin missed time due to recurring migraines last season and has struggled with this issue for most of his life. Because of his track record, fantasy owners should be a little weary when drafting Harvin and make sure they have a capable backup to fill his place.
Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe should still be a starting player for fantasy squads, especially in leagues that heavily reward touchdowns. Shiancoe is Favre’s favorite target in the red zone, and that shouldn’t change this season.
Is Brett Favre Still Worth Starting In Fantasy Football?
If Favre sustains an injury at any time this season, it could easily linger and effect his fantasy stats. That would be the time for you to switch gears and go with your backup, until Favre proves he is healthy again.
