2010 Fantasy Football Impact: Brian Westbrook Signs with 49ers
It took Brian Westbrook a long time to finally decide on a team to play for. Finally, he has signed with the 49ers. In the end, I just couldn't believe Westbrook would go to the Rams even though reports had him rumored to go there throughout the offseason.
With this move Westbrook has blown up my hopes for rookie Anthony Dixon to be the team's No.2 running back, but that is alright.

The former Eagle running back has fallen hard in the fantasy world as he isn’t even going to be a starting tailback in the NFL. Now in his 30s, Westbrook’s injuries and concussions have taken a large toll, but he still has skills to help a football team.
This was a very good move on the part of the 49ers, and they have a much better chance to win the division with Westbrook helping out on offense.
Fantasy Football Impact
Look for Frank Gore to be the main runner in this offense as Westbrook will be the third-down back and spot him throughout the game. This move shouldn’t hurt Gore’s fantasy value but some fantasy owners will probably dope him down a peg for it.
Westbrook now becomes a solid handcuff back for fantasy owners who select Gore as he has a history of injuries.
