Oakland Raiders: Darren McFadden: What are we NOT going to use him for?

Well, in training camp, we're starting to get an idea on what in all McFadden can bring.

And as well, we're starting to see a lot of different ideas, from one player.

First and foremost, McFadden becomes the backfield threat as a Running back.

However, we've now seen him spread out as a Wide out, and even fielding some kicks.

According to Kiffin, we shouldn't be worried, as he won't be put in the position to be injured on a return....which is also like playing Russian roulette....less bullets, but a mistake could kill your season.

There's the obvious things McFadden won't be called on to do. He won't be a fullback, for obvious reasons, or trying something really foolish, ie, defensive positions. I also don't see them trying to play the QB on the fly either....tempting, just as a surprise. But then, Kiffin is known for trying things creatively.

Let's just hope he mess up McFadden more than help him, or the team.

One thing that seems to becoming more obvious, is that McFadden, Michael Bush, and Justin Fargas, will be giving defenses major fits all year long. The main advantage, is each runner has his own trademark. So, when one gets figured out, switch. Then, the next guy runs.

Then, for the pure fun, switch every 3 times, every 2 times....eventually, the opposing team is going to grow tired trying to stop this rushing attack.

By the 4th quarter, the defenses of opposing teams will either need to use fresh legs to stop....or, they're going to let someone go up the middle for some big gains.

Oakland did enjoy a good time of possession last season, primarily due to a healthy run game. The problem that they had, was they couldn't fine tune it, and thus, they'd leave too much time on the clock, or be in the position, where they couldn't make use of the run, being behind in the game.

What do I look at for the Raiders?

On the good side, two running backs will crack 1000 yards, probably Fargas and McFadden. Bush, will probably have between 5-9 TDs, as a goal line tank.

Here's to a fun season....and the first preseason game is in less than a week....08-08-08.
