Riot Worthy: Two Blockbuster Deals Send MLB Race Into a Frenzy
The last 24 hours have been insane if you're a Boston fan or a Griffey supporter. Today, it all came ahead as two huge deals may leave the fans of Boston screaming foul play and the LA faithful laughing at their miseries. Here's the deals that left all of us breathless.
Windy City Meets Kid Dynamite...Personally
While the rumors of Manny to the Marlins or the Pirates filled Beantown with despair, future Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr. displayed a cutthroat gesture in one of his final games as a member of the Cincinnati Reds. A few days later, he found out that his services were no longer required in Cincinnati. Now with a couple of months left until postseason play, the Chicago White Sox now have some firepower in the form of the man formerly known as Kid Dynamite.

Sox Eyeing Offensive Help โ๏ธ
Now Griffey has a chance to get something that he hasn't had in his illustrious career: A World Series ring. The White Sox need all the help they can get heading into the final stretch of the regular season. And Griffey needs a new challenge for the final stretch of his career. But the biggest question is this: If the Sox have to play a series in Seattle, how will the Mariners fans respond to the return of their golden boy?
Manny, meet Kobe. Kobe, meet Manny.
If someone told me that Manny Ramirez would one day play for Joe Torre, I would have thrown beer in their face. Now, I will mostly be having shots with the guy at some bar in Hollywood. As announced today on ESPN, the Boston Red Sox said goodbye to their off the wall class clown slugger as Manny is taking his antics to the House that Kobe built.
Yes, Red Sox Nation, it's official: Kobe Bryant and Manny Ramirez will now be having a sports affair as Ramirez was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now we all know this is a good thing for the Dodgers...but what about Boston? Can Boston still do it without one of their premier sluggers? With the addition of Manny, can the Dodgers officially take over the off the wall NL West?
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I never thought I would see the day that karma would hit Beantown so quickly. But then again, considering what happened the last time they won the World Series Championship, I did see this coming.
Now that a member of the NL is in the AL and vice versa, how will the four teams involved handle the upcoming weeks leading up to the postseason? How will Griffey handle the fans of the Windy City? How will Kobe handle sharing the spotlight with another egomaniac? And will Boston and Chicago meet in the AL Playoffs? Will Manny be in the postseason?
