Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno Was Carted off the Field

 ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- First day of Training Camp took on an ominous start when Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was carted off the field after hurting his right leg on the first day of training camp.

About an hour into the workout he and Correll Buckhalter both injured their legs.

Within Minutes of Moreno being carted off Buckhalter injured his left leg.

Morenos' leg buckled out from underneath him after catching a pass in 7-on-7 drill, Buckwalter was also injured the same drill.

Unfortunately the Broncos just traded JJ Arrington to the Philidelphia Eagles for middle linebacker Joe Mays.

Former Kansas Chiefs running back Kolby Smith was picked up off of waivers on June 15, 2010.

Smith was drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was placed on Injured Reserve due to a ankle injury on December 5, 2009. The Chiefs waived Smith on June 14, 2010.

until we see what the actual condition of the Oft-injured former Philadelphia Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter and Moreno actually winds up being, Smith who appeared to be a lock for the number three running back slot is now jacked up to No.1.

Rookie free agent running back Toney Baker, who is a dark horse in the Broncos running back race,  along with Lance Ball and Bruce Hall will be counted on to step up and carry the load in training camp.

UPDATE: The Broncos are awaiting MRI results on his hamstring. Various reports are assuming the worse in regards of Moreno having tore his hamstring. If that's the case Moreno could be out anywhere between 1-3 months.

Buckhalter was at the hospital w/ leg numbness. He has since been released, he had suffered an upper-back pull.

Broncos dodged a  major bullet last season when an MRI revealed that Moreno-the-then-rookie, had just suffered a mild MCL sprain to his right knee.

After having lost seven tailbacks to injury in 2008, this has got to be giving Broncos fan some bad flashback's.

Moreno's hamstring is not torn, for all we know he could return before Buchalter does.

Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 Denver reports that Knowshon Moreno has a "slight" tear of his right hamstring, your basic strained hammy, he is expected to be out 2-3 weeks.
