Terrell Owens: Ochouno Signs With Cincinnati Bengals

Joe FaviaJul 27, 2010

Terrell Owens has signed a one-year contract to play with Chad Ochocinco and the Cincinnati Bengals next season for two million.

The much-maligned possible future Hall-of-Famer is coming off what can be described as a underwhelming year in Buffalo and is looking to rebound.

The pairing with Chad Ochocinco will no doubt be the subject of unrelenting media coverage as both attention-craving receivers have their own reality show on VH1 ("The T.O. Show" and "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch").

Carson Palmer may be just what could bring Owens back to his dominance with the Cowboys, Eagles, and 49ers days. He has been able to make receivers out of people like T.J Houshmandzadeh, the late Chris Henry, and Ochocinco.

But as chronicled by many media outlets, Owens is on the downturn of his career, as his production over the past two seasons is not what the six-time pro bowler is expected to do on the field.

The Bengals, on the other hand, could be getting a much more humbled Owens who did not get many offers from different teams. Much of this is because of his on-field decline and his image as the "Team Obilterator."

In the best case scenario, the Bengals could have a strong one-two punch at wide receiver with Ochocinco and Owens, two of the best of their generation. A healthy Antonio Bryant could make the Bengals a tough team to beat in the AFC, and most likely the favorite in the AFC North with the Ravens.

We can only hope that Owens is a man of his word, and honors his commitment to change his name to "Ocho-Uno" as he said he would if in fact he signed with the Bengals.

No one can imagine what touchdown celebrations the combo of Chad and Terrell will produce in the "Queen City," but one thing is for sure.

It should be interesting.

Will Owens change it to Terrell Ochouno?
