7-4-10 Z-Cap: Mets 9 Nationals 5

Metszilla.comCorrespondent IJuly 5, 2010

The Mets were able to bounce back from Saturday’s heart breaking loss to score 9 runs on 14 hits beating the Washington Nationals 9-5 in the process. Before showing signs of life on Sunday afternoon (3 for 5), Angel Pagan was just 2-11 (.182 avg) since his return from the DL. When asked if this was he the best he has felt since returning from the injury Angel said:

No doubt, I am trying to get my timing back. Its not like I lost my whole timing but without seeing pitches for a week its just kinda difficult just to go jump into the game and get knocks but I’ve been battling everyday and Yes today is the best I’ve felt so far.”

Ike Davis and Jason Bay combined to go 3 for 9 (.333) with 6 RBI while David Wright added 2 hits of his own. As I stated in yesterday’s  Z-Cap writing about how scorching hot David is just doesn’t get old. He is one of two Mets to make the All-Star team (Jose Reyes), and is quietly having an MVP type season. Wright is on pace for 28 HR, 131 RBI,26 SB with a ~.314 AVG.
