Robaire Smith: Latest Cleveland Brown With A Gun Offense

First it was Shaun Rogers, and now it's Robaire Smith who can't remember where his guns are when he goes to the airport.

According to the timeline, it actually was Smith who went to the airport packing heat first, we're just finding out about it now. Smith's offense occurred on Nov. 6.

Rogers was arrested on April 1, and that wasn't an Internet joke story, much to the chagrin of Browns fans everywhere.

So the Browns have two defensive lineman committing the exact same offense within a year of each other.

I'll let the reader write their own "teamwork" joke and insert it here.

Neither case has been settled yet. There has been no word from Commissioner Roger Goodell on any kind of disciplinary action on Rogers yet, if there will be any at all.

The Browns are in the middle of their umpteenth rebuild since returning to the league in 1999 and Rogers is the only one of the two on any kind of solid footing at the moment.

Rogers has proved he is one of the better talents on the Browns line, and a possible move down the line from nose tackle should only increase his effectiveness.

Most likely, Rogers will come out of this incident with a game or two of suspension, but no more than that. His place on the team should be secure.

Although Smith, had 62 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 2009. The tackles weren't bad, but you want more sacks out of a defensive end.

Smith didn't record a sack in 2008, but had four in 2007, the year the Browns went to the Super Bowl . I mean the year the Browns ALMOST went to the playoffs. In Browns terms, though, ALMOST making it to the playoffs can count as going to the Super Bowl.

It's how Browns fans stay sane.

Anyway, Smith is 32 years old, and the Browns are becoming a much younger team. Smith better impress in training camp, or the possibility of a suspension and/or jail time will punch his ticket out of town.
