Detroit Lions Fans with Nothing To Talk About: A Support Group

Jared JohnstonContributor IJune 30, 2010

OK, so here we are. The month of July starts tomorrow. Today, and for the month of July, football is the last thing you'll hear or find a shred of news about (unless some one gets a DUI at Bud-Bash, thanks Mr. Lewand).

Per Mr. Schotty's orders (and I happen to agree with him) we all need to find something else to do. Something else to think about.

We simply have to find a way to get through the month of July (without pulling our hair out or going into a coma from depression). Training camp begins at the end of the month, and as soon as that happens, preseason games are not far away!

This offseason news drought is going to be harder for most Lions fans in the Bleacher Report community because we've actually got something to look forward to for the first time in at least three years.

So this article is going to be a support group (of sorts) for us Lions fans and news-addicted junkies to our favorite NFL team.

Comment below on what you're going to do with your summer that doesn't involve the Lions. We want to know! To some of us it may be the difference between finding something constructive to do, and going insane searching for tidbits of news on Google like a crazy old miner panning for dust in a river during the gold rush.

I will spend most of my free time this summer on Townline Lake, about one hour north of Grand Rapids, Mich. I'll be trying to wake board (although I'm really horrible), pulling friends and family on tubes, and cruising around in the 1978 Ski Nautique that I restored a few years ago. When I'm not doing that I'll probably be doing some fishing for bluegills or bass, but mostly bluegills because they're better eating.

But how about you? What will you do? I may need some other ideas and I'm sure the other readers on Bleacher Report could use an idea or two of reasons to get out of the house and away from the computer.

Yes that means you, Lions fan!  Step away from the computer.

Well not quite yet, first tell us all what you're going to do without Lions news to read about. Then step away from the computer and go do it!
