Michael Vick's Fate in the Hands Of NFL Commissioner...Again
Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick can't seem to avoid trouble.
The latest controversy surrounding him? A shooting last week outside his birthday party that has NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wondering if he made the right decision in reinstating the notorious quarterback.
According to reports, Vick voluntarily spoke with Virginia Beach police after a shooting occurred outside his 30th birthday party. Vick claims that he had left before the shooting broke out, and that he did not know the identity of the shooter.

All would be fine if this checked out, but that does not seem to be the case. The victim of the shooting was Quanis Phillips, a co-defendent in Vick's 2007 dog-fighting trial.
Vick's probation terms clearly state that he "may not associate with any person convicted of a felony, unless granted permission by parole officer."
When Vick was reinstated in the NFL last year, Goodell said that he must strictly abide by the terms of his probation, or else suffer the consequences.
Vick claims that Phillips was kicked out of his party before the shooting occurred, and it is unclear if he was invited directly by Vick. The party was advertised on the internet and was open to the public for an admission fee.
According to VA Beach attorney James Garrett, a chance encounter with a felon is not a violation of probation.
So once again, Vick's fate hangs in the hands of Goodell, who says he is still monitoring the case and gathering the facts before making a judgement call.
Whether fans will see No. 7 flying with the Eagles for another season or back in prison is yet to be decided. One thing does remain though: Vick should probably just stay at home and avoid trouble.
