Yankees Continue Winning, Beat Red Sox
The New York Yankees won a tight game against the Boston Red Sox, beating them 1-0 on Friday night.
This game came down to the brilliant pitching on both sides. Joba Chamberlain started for the Yanks. He pitched seven innings, allowed no runs on only three hits, walked one and struck out nine.
Josh Beckett started for the Red Sox. Beckett tossed seven inngs, allowed one run on nine hits, walked one and fanned six.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The lone run of the game came in the top of the third inning. Jason Giambi singled to score Bobby Abreu, giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead they would never relinquish.
The game featured some drama in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Kevin Youkilis at the plate, Chamberlain threw a pitch that nearly hit Youkilis square in the head.The pitch missed and hit Youkilis's bat, giving a strike to Chamberlain.
Beckett was ready to run out onto the field, poised to brawl. Both benches were warned as a result of the incident, and Youkilis eventually struck out.
In the eighth inning, Mariano Rivera was called in to record a rare five-out save. Rivera got all five outs as the Yankees went on to win the game.
In other Yankee news, the Bombers made a huge trade today. The Yankees sent infielder Jose Tabata, pitchers Ross Ohlendorf, George Kontos, and Phil Coke to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for outfielder Xavier Nady and reliever Damaso Marte. The deal is pending paperwork and physicals.
Chamberlain won the game, his second win as a starter, and is now 3-3 overall.
Beckett lost, and is now 9-7 on the season.
Rivera recorded save number 26.
Tomorrow afternoon at 3:55 ET, game two of the weekend series will be played from Fenway Park in Boston. Andy Pettitte (11-7, 3.86 ERA) will go for New York. He will be opposed by Tim Wakefield (6-7, 3.69 ERA).
