We were entertained by these kings of swing this week. They stepped up to the plate and forced the fans to stand. Here’s your standing ovation for a great week of production gentlemen.

1)    1B Carlos Pena TB

The Rays first baseman had the most home runs last week with six bombs. He went 8-for-24 with nine RBI and finished with a .333 AVG.

Pena hit home runs in six consecutive games last Saturday. Pena is the first person to achieve such an honor since Frank Thomas accomplished the feat in 2006.

Pena saw a nice jump in ownership last week with his power show.

It has not been a great year overall for Pena as he is only hitting .193. On the bright side he has fifteen home runs with 43 RBI for the season thus far. This hot streak might pull him out of the gutter with his average.

2)    OF Ryan Spilborghs Col

The Colorado outfielder was 10-for-16 with three home runs, three RBI, and finished last week with a league best .625 AVG.

Due to other outfielders’ injuries and lack of production he has had a chance to swing the bat more last week and it paid off for the Rockies. He has had three home runs, two doubles, and one triple in the last three days.

Spilborghs is hitting .291 with six home runs for the season.

His role as a fourth outfielder hasn’t made him a prime pick up for fantasy owners. He could be a decent replacement for an ailing player on your roster.

3)    1B/OF Adam Dunn Was

The Washington outfielder was phenomenal last week. He had four home runs with seven RBI, went 10-or-22 to give him a .455 AVG.

When all eyes were on Stephen Strasburg, Dunn was having a productive night. He went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run helping the rookie sensation win his debut at “The Show”.

Dunn is hitting .289 with fourteen home runs for the season.

4)    OF Josh Hamilton Tex

The Texas outfielder hit big with four home runs last week. Hamilton drove thirteen of his teammates across the dish. He went 10-for-27 giving him .370 AVG to complete an awesome week.

It looks like Hamilton has done well despite issues with is right knee.

The popular Rangers outfielder is hitting .309 with fifteen home runs for the season.

5)    1B Adrian Gonzalez SD

It was hot in California last week. Gonzalez hit three into the stands and had seven RBI. The Padres first baseman was 10-for-25 with a .400 AVG last week.

Gonzalez hit two solo blasts last Monday over the Phillies.

The San Diego power house has had five home runs, fifteen RBI, and hit .407 in June.

Gonzalez is hitting .296 with fourteen home runs for the season right now.

San Diego might be looking to deal Gonzalez out around the All-Star break. With his current production is looking like a major acquisition for potential play off teams.

6)    2B Brandon Phillips Cin

The Reds second baseman was 14-for-26 with one homerun, pushed three across the dish, touched the plate six times himself, and finished last week with a .538 AVG.

After struggling in April, Phillips appears to have turned it around with last week’s production. He is hitting .464 since the start of June.

On June 10th, Phillips scored the game-winning run for the Reds.

Leg soreness may put an end to his hot streak as he was scratched from last Sunday’s game.

Phillips is hitting .311 with eight home runs for the season.

7)    3B Scott Rolen Cin

The Reds third baseman was 12-for-24 with five RBI, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Rolen was 12-for-26 with two homeruns, nine RBI, and a .462 AVG. to complete his first week in June.

He will need to stay healthy to continue his uprising among the ranks. June has definitely been good to his bat. He is hitting .429 with three home runs since the start of the month.

Rolen is hitting .313 with fourteen home runs for the season.

8)    OF Marlon Byrd ChC

The Cubs outfielder went 13-for-26 with two homeruns, five RBI, and finished last week with a .500 AVG.

Byrd is hitting .457 since the start of June.

Chicago must be happy with Byrd’s production this year so far. He is hitting .333 with nine home runs.

9)    SS Jose Reyes NYM

The Mets shortstop went 12-for-25 with two homeruns, two stolen bases, and hit .500.

He was a big name on the fantasy draft but has yet to really pay off. He is hitting .265 with three home runs and only sixteen RBI. This hot streak might be the answer to his less than stellar numbers.

10)  OF Johnny Damon Det

The Tiger’s new outfielder went 10-for-21 with five RBI, and .476 AVG.

June was kind to Damon as he hit .340 with nine RBI since the start of the month.

Damon is hitting .294 with only three home runs and eighteen RBI this season.

Honorable Mention- OF Julio Borbon Tex

The Texas outfielder was 10-for-19 with a .526 AVG.

He gets an honorable mention for his impressive average last week. He didn’t drive in enough runs to make the list. He is hitting .442 in June.

He has been a disappointment for fantasy owners and has seen his ownership drop significantly. His overall average for the season is .285 with only seventeen RBI.
