Yet another article I've read today about how expectations are too low. How can all you call yourselves football fans.
To expect us to win 12-14 is just not sane. Get real people. At most we can win 10, and that's if we are having a great year. Our players are too young to win that many games. Plus 8 games isn't so bad considering we have been less than mediocre for the past 7 years winning under 30 games in that span.
You all have to realize what is really going on in the Raiders Organization and it is improvement. But, who the hell said we have the talent to go from 5-11 to 12-4. All we have is RAW talent.
There is less than five people on the Raiders roster that have actually proven themselves at a professional level which is another reason why our fans need to get a grip.
All of this calling for an amazing year because we had a good draft is preposterous. To repeat for some who might not understand the true meaning of that word. It means lack of common sense. And common sense tells any other fan of football that these players will not have such an impact as rookie or newly acquired players.
The fact is that the Raiders Organization has been a mess and it going to take more than two and a half years with the Cable Guy to fix. The firing of Cable would also put Oakland right back to Ground Zero. So when the Raiders win 8 and dissapoint the overly-optimistic fan base do not call for the firing of Cable, he's our only hope.
People are already hinting they want him gone and for Hue Jackson to be head coach. We don't even know if he's a good offensive coordinator. He was a QB coach everywhere else. He doesn't know how to run a team. Time will tell all things... As does it heal all wounds. So just be patient. Get Real People. I don't like calling family names. And Raider Nation is a family.
