A QB Went Down to Charlotte: The Tale Of Armanti Edwards

Armanti went down to Charlotte, he was looking for a spot to steal.

He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: So he was willing to make a deal.

When he came across a man playin toss' a QB with lots of skill!

And Armanti jumped right down in front and said: "Boy let me tell you what:

"I bet you didn't know it, but I can play QB too.

"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

"Now you play a pretty good QB, boy, but give Armanti his due:

"I bet a roster spot against your slot, 'cos I think I'm better than you".

The boy said: "My names Jimmy Clausen and it might be a sin,

"but I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'Cos I'm the best thats ever been."

Jimmy you warm your football and throw it nice and hard.

'Cos Hells broke loose in Charlotte and Armanti deals the cards.

And if you win, your spot you get to hold.

But if you lose, Armanti takes your role.

Armanti opened up his stance and he said: "I'll start this show".

And a fire flew from his fingertips as he let that football go.

He threw the ball across his chest and it made an evil hiss.

Then a band of receivers joined in, Armanti could'nt miss.

When Armanti finished, Jimmy said: "Well you're pretty good ol' Son.

"But sit down on that bench, right there and let me show you how it's done".

Down the sideline, run boys, run.

Receiver in the endzone, grabbin my pass.

Corner at the 15 down on his a$$!

Armanti bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat.

He laid that QB jersey on the ground at Jimmys feet.

Jimmy said: "Armanti you just come on back if you ever want to try again".

"I told you once, you son of a gun, I'm the best that's ever been".

Down the sideline, Armanti run.

And so begins Armanti Edwards NFL career as a wide receiver. At 5'11" and 185 Lbs. Armanti will be used more as a decoy or in the wildcat, than anything else. While I believe he can and will contribute to the Panthers, I am still perplexed as to why he was chosen with a 3rd round pick! I guess the Panthers saw something I didn't, and I guess we will see as the season unfolds, how Carolina will utilize Armanti.
