2010 NFL Rookie Rankings
Here is my list of the top 10 rookies...
1) Ryan Mathews—instant starter in San Diego and I expect amazing things for this rookie RB in 2010. I have no doubt that he will produce 1,200+ yards and near double digit TD's in his first NFL season.
2) Jahvid Best—going to be a stud PPR RB for dynasty leaguers; his redraft value is fairly solid as I foresee kick-off return yards, along with 900+ total yards and four TD's in 2010. He has even more upside if he can have some long break away runs a la Chris Johnson. These fast, track star, RB's have been making solid RB's for the NFL.
3) CJ Spiller—Spiller has a bit of a crowded backfield in Buffalo, but it's a matter of time before Lynch is traded. If Lynch is not traded Spiller's upside is squashed in 2010, but his long term dynasty value is high as he can be used in a number of situations. He should have 750+ total yards and four TD's in his 2010 rookie year.
4) Dez Bryant—Patrick Crayton wanting to leave Dallas is showing the hand in Dallas. Bryant will start and Patrick will sit in 2010. I love Bryant's dynasty value and you can bump him up to No. 1 or No. 2 if you are in a dynasty league. He should have 600+ yards and five TD's in 2010.
5) Ben Tate—Tate finds himself in a crowded backfield and may not be the official starter until mid-season. He has amazing upside in 2010 but realistically one can expect 600+ yards and five TD's with a huge upside nearing 1,000+ total yards and five TD's in 2010.
6) Arrelious Benn—Tampa Bay is upgrading their receiver corps in 2010. Benn is an instant starter and has the talent to produce at least 500+ yards and four TD's in 2010.
7) Golden Tate—Tate is a beast of an athlete and will be used in many different situations in 2010. LenDale White is gone and this should give Tate some additional carries he might not have been given. I expect 600+ total yards and a TD or two in 2010.
8) Demaryius Thomas—If he can shake off the rawness and step up in 2010 he could be a huge rookie sleeper with the upside of 1,000+ yards and near double digit TD's. Honestly if you draft him the more realistic picture is 500+ yards and four TD's in 2010 with awesome dynasty value.
9) Montario Hardesty—It's too bad there are so many RB's in Cleveland or I would rank him in the No. 2 slot, but with the competition his 2010 numbers are probably going to be 500+ yards and four TD's in 2010. For dynasty leaguers you can bump him up to the No. 3 slot behind Matthews and Bryant.
10) Jermaine Greshem—instant starter in Cincinnati with great hands. Easily good for 500+ yards and three TD's for his rookie campaign.
Bonus 11) Sam Bradford—I couldn't leave Bradford off of this list; he is in a tough spot in Saint Louis and he is a bit of a crap shoot in 2010. He should only be drafted in dynasty formats and huge redraft leagues.
