The secondary brought in Burnett, who has the potential to upseat Bigby. But, they also brought in key undrafted players who may interest some in the form of Levine (FS,) and Sheilds (CB/KR/PR.)
The secondary was addressed as a key downfall in the shootout 51-45 loss against the Cardinals.
Poor depth at safety was addressed in Burnett, Martin was resigned, and several young players in Jones and Levine were brought in to compete for back up FS spots behind Pro Bowl FS Collins, with Peprah resigned as well.
The cornerback position looks to be considered wide open, with Woodson, Williams, and even Harris (once he recovers,) as the locks on the roster.
Competing are Pat Lee (off of his injury), Brandon Underwood, Trevor Ford, DJ Clark,Sam Sheilds, and Will Blackmon, along with Jarret Bush, fighting for about three, maybe four, spots.
Production from former second round pick Pat Lee is key in the production of Green Bay's CBs, as is Underwood.
Sheilds looks to hold edge due to his return ability, which became hampered after Blackmon's injury.
Underwood is a year into the system, and looks to step up as a reserve corner back.
Blackmon and Bush have had their problems in injury and consistency, respectively, and aren't locks to make the roster.
Ford and Clark are unknowns, having been practice squad players since they were signed, and are looking for jobs on the full roster.
As mentioned. Green Bay is likely to keep about four safeties and about six cornerbacks. Here are the locks, on the bubbles, and off the roster players:
Locks: Woodson, Harris, Williams
Bubbles:Underwood, Lee, Ford, Clark, Sheilds
Off: Bush, Blackmon, Bell
Locks: Collins, Burnett, Martin
Bubbles: Levine, Jones, Bigby,
