Barry Sanders Back In Detroit?

Just as elusive in his retirement as he was throughout his entire career, Barry Sanders unparalleled escapability might have just returned to The Motor City.

Since Jim Schwartz's public confession of Jahvid Best highlights over porn, everyone has googled youtube's display of Jahvid Best's football majestry, myself included. Among the many highlight videos of Best, other running backs highlights are available as well, but none of which are as captivating as the show Best puts on.

I looked at CJ Spiller, Reggie Bush, Joe Mcnight etc...no one that I saw showcased the Barry like Whodini act that Jahvid Best did. He has those same air brakes that Barry Sanders wowed us all with throughout the 90's; that ability to turn a broken play into a sportscenter touchdown run, to leave his opponents grasping at a mirage of the shifty running back recently in front of them.

I myself am a devout Lions fan, and like many of us, I was crushed at the announcement of Barry's retirement, bitter even, if I can say that. So for the last ten years I've avoided tampering with the unhealed wound caused by the last disappearing act of the great Barry Sander's. I didn't even want to hear his name, like an unfaithful girlfriend you caught in the midst of her infidelities.

Today was the first day I was able to break out 'the old photo album' and stimulate the release of oxytocin, by watching some Barry highlights. It was the closest thing to the Jahvid Best mockery of opposing defenses.

I'm telling you, I see the next Barry Sanders in this Kid. With the season still 3 and a half months away, I'm developing a social anxiety disorder due to the anticipation of fate for the young Lions running back. I've never seen a running style that was as breath taking as Barry's until I saw Jahvid Best. One can only hope, one can only hope...
