2010 NFL Draft: ACC Well Represented in First Round and Other Draft Thoughts.
First off, what a great idea by ESPN to have the NFL draft's first round in prime time.
All day Thursday, people I talked to were saying "I'm going home to watch the draft." I've never heard that before.

On to the first round thoughts.
The ACC had four players selected in the first round: C.J. Spiller of Clemson, Derrick Morgan and Demaryius Thomas of Georgia Tech, and Florida State's Patrick Robinson.
RB C.J. Spiller went ninth in the draft to the Buffalo Bills. A little bit of a strange pick for a team with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch, but maybe one of themālikely Lynchāis on his way out.
I'm wondering how much influence new coach Chan Gailey had on the pick. Gailey probably was telling anyone who would listen, "That guy ran for bazillion yards against me when I was at Georgia Tech in that 2006 game we lost 31-7."
The Bills need some excitement on that team, and Spiller can line up all over the field, return kicks, and bring some much-needed life to the Bills.
DE Derrick Morgan was drafted 16th by the Tennessee Titans. Just as I thought Morgan might be slipping down the draft board, the Titans get him.
The Titans used to have one of the NFL's most feared defenses, but it has slipped recently. Morgan is a great pick for them, and should really boost their defensive line with his pass rushing skills.
WR Demaryius Thomas is picked 22nd by the Denver Broncos. The Broncos lose Brandon Marshall, but get Thomas.
Now Paul Johnson will use this on every WR recruit he talks to in the future: "Come play WR for me in my triple-option offense that runs 80 percent of the time, and you'll be a first round pick."
You can't buy that kind of good publicity. Thomas has the size and speed to be a solid NFL WR.
The New Orleans Saints drafted Patrick Robinson with the 32nd pick in the draft. I always thought Robinson had plenty of natural cover ability, but gambled too much at Florida State.
The Saints could have a diamond in the rough with Robinson, but he does need some work.
WR Dez Bryant is the steal of the first round. I love this pick at 24 by Dallas. Tony Romo now has Miles Austin and Dez Bryant to throw to.
I like it.
I don't see Bryant having any off-the-field issues in the NFL. Said "yes sir, no sir," in every answer in an interview with ESPN's Mike Tirico earlier in the day.
I have to comment on Tim Tebow. No player that I can remember has more people split on his future than Tebow.
I am surprised Tebow went in the first round. I think that was a risky pick by Denver. It's not that I don't think he won't eventually be a good NFL QB, I just think he would have been available in the second or third round.
He's joining Denver Bronco QBs Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn. That doesn't exactly remind anyone of when the San Francisco 49ers had Joe Montana and Steve Young.
Round Two and Three analysis with an ACC perspectiveĀ will be on its way after those rounds are complete.
