2010 NFL Draft: 20 Bold Predictions for Day Two

Chris MaierApr 23, 2010

Day one of the 2010 NFL Draft is in the books and it was a tremendous first day highlighted by a Raiders-like reach by the Jaguars (Tyson Alualu) and Tim Tebow going in round one.

The first round gets all the talk but under the new format, day two should be the more interesting day as a day of trade talk and a deep crop of players remain on the board (highlighted by Jimmy Clausen).

Here are 20 predictions for day two (as bold as one can be with 20 predictions).

1. There will be more trades in round two than round one.  There were seven trades amongst the first 32 picks but picks 33 and 34 are likely to be traded to give round two a chance for eight plus.

2. Minnesota will not draft Jimmy Clausen . If they really wanted him as their QB of the future, they would not have traded down.

2. Despite acquiring Matt Cassel just a year ago, the Kansas City Chiefs will select Jimmy Clausen at pick 36 (Seattle as the dark horse).

3. Someone will trade up in front of Cleveland to take Colt McCoy

4. After failing to draft Tim Tebow, the Buffalo Bills will select Tim Tebow-lite, Dan LeFevour , in round three.

5. Appalachian State's QB/WR/KR Armanti Edwards will be a day two pick.

6. Bruce Campbell will be an Oakland Raider. Ok, this one is not really that bold but Al will get his guy and won't have to reach for it (Predicted this yesterday in Five Players Who Will Fall ).

7. The Bengals will select WR Mike Williams in round three, and it won't be a bad pick.  Passing on Dez Bryant had to be extremely hard for Mike "the redeemer" Brown but Williams is a similar talent with even bigger character concerns.

8. The Colts will trade up to get either offensive tackle Charles Brown or Rodger Saffold .

9. The Dolphins will draft WR/RB Dexter McCluster .

10. The Patriots will not use a second round pick on a rush linebacker.

11. The Houston Texans will draft RB Jonathan Dwyer .

12. CB Brandon Ghee will regret going to New York.  Being in the green room on day three was not what he had in mind.

13. New England will draft TE Aaron Hernandez.

14. Indiana-PA CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah will be picked in round three.

15. ILB Brandon Spikes will fall to day three.

16. DE/OLB Ricky Sapp will be drafted before Sergio Kindle .

17. WR Antonio Brown will be selected before Jordan Shipley .

18. We will find out how concerned teams are with TE Rob Gronkowski's back.  If he falls out of round two, buyer beware.

19. S Morgan Burnett and Nate Allen will be selected before Taylor Mays .

20. DT Linval Joseph will be selected before Terrence Cody .

Bonus: Expect numerous day two trades involving players such as DT John Henderson, DE Osi Umenyiora, RB Marshawn Lynch, DT Albert Haynesworth, or more.
