2010 NFL Draft: The Eagles Will Make A Trade; But Where and For Who?
It now is an inevitable fact every season that the Philadelphia Eagles will trade up in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Last season, it was a trade with Cleveland to go up two spots to get Jeremy Maclin. In 2008 and 2007, the Eagles gave up their first round picks and got second round picks that resulted in picking Kevin Kolb, Trevor Laws, and DeSean Jackson.Ā
2010 will be no different.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
With speculation heating up in the hours before the draft, the Eagles will most likely go up the draft board to get a player the front office really likes.
With two second round picks, two in the third, two in the fourth, one in the six and two in the seventh, they have a total of ten picks over the next three days.
One thing is for sure according to reports and that is the 37th overall pick (6th pick in the second round) is off the table because of the position of the pick and possible deals tommorrow night.
Here are the most likely possibilites for the Eagles to trade up tonight:
Trade to Kansas City at No. 5 to select Eric Berry
This is unlikely but if the Eagles like Eric Berry that much they have the picks to do so. The Chiefs would most likely get the 24th overall pick and either the 55th overall pick and possibly another pick in the later rounds.
Trade to Cleveland at No. 7 to select Earl Thomas
Berry will be gone at No. 7 so if the Eagles trade with the Browns, they will go after Earl Thomas. The Browns have been rumored to be shopping their pick and would probably take the same package as the Chiefs from the Eagles.
Trade to Denver at No. 11 to select Thomas or best available player
By trading with Denver,Ā the Eagles would take the risk of Thomas being gone at this point. This leaves open the idea of drafting Rolando McClain, with would be an instant upgrade to an improving line backing corps, but is unlikely after the acquisition of Ernie Sims.
Another possibility is picking Joe Haden or Kyle Wilson at corner at this spot.
Denver would most likely get the No. 24 pick and a later round pick in the trade.
Trade with Miami at No. 12 to select best available player
Miami is another team looking to get rid of their first round pick. The same philosophy would go along with the Denver deal. Between Thomas, Haden, Wilson, McClain or even the possibility of taking CJ Spiller.
Miami has a lot of late round picks but no second round and one third round pick. With the Eagles' lot of second and third round picks, the Dolphins could be open to acquiring one of those picks along with No. 24.
Other Possibilities:
The Eagles keep the No. 24 pick and give away a slew of the late round picks to keep three early draft picks. By keeping No. 4, the Birds could still go after Taylor Mays.
Taking CJ Spiller might not be out of the question if the Eagles trade with Denver or Miami. If Thomas isn't there, why not take Spiller? He would be the best available player.
No matter what occurs in tonight's first round, the Eagles will most likely make one trade with either one of these four teams or someone else. Also, the No. 37 pick tommorrow will be a key piece in trades tommorrow with Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy most likely still on the board.
