Matt Leinart's Turn To Start
The retirement of Kurt Warner gives Matt Leinart a chance to be the full time starter for the Cardinals . Derek Anderson was brought in to push Leinart, but don't be surprised if Leinart comfortably wins the starting job this season.
With Leinart in at quarterback and Anquan Boldin gone to the Ravens , look for the Cardinals to lean on the running game more often. This will mean good things for second year tail back Beanie Wells as he was clearly the better runner in this offense for the second half of the season.
Tim Hightower will be involved in the offense, but Wells should be the man this team leans on to finish football games.
Larry Fitzgerald should have another productive season as he has good chemistry with Leinart. Steve Breaston will see a bump in fantasy value as well now that he is a starter.
Turnover Should Hurt Defense
The Cardinals did a good job in acquiring veterans like line backer Joey Porter and safety Karry Rhodes this past March. Still, losing Karlos Dansby to the Dolphins and Antrel Rolle to the Giants will hurt this defense. Throw in the loss of veteran Bertrand Berry to retirement and the Cardinals have lost some key players on the field and in the club house.
Hopefully corner back DRC is up to the challenge of playing shut down defense in his third year. This secondary and team is going to need his great play in order to hold of the 49ers in 2010.
