Some thought Jamaal Charles would be the next great fantasy back after his strong finish of the 2009 season. While Charles may still have a good season his fantasy value took a big hit once the team signed veteran Thomas Jones in March.
Look for Jones as a good bet to steal touchdowns away from Charles this season but as a tandem they should thrive. New offensive coordinator Charlie Weis should be able to mold this offense into a productive group.
Hopefully, the Chiefs can land a good tight end at this year's draft to help Matt Cassel in the passing game. A good receiving tight end would fit well with Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers playing at receiver.
Defense Should Struggle Again
While the Chiefs' defense did show signs of improvement in the final game of the year against the Broncos, it is hard to see them as a top twenty defense this year. Now in the second year of playing a 3-4 style defense, this young group of defenders should have a better idea of filling their role.
Look for this unit to improve under new coordinator Romeo Crennel, but they will still take its lumps along the way.
