2010 NFL Draft: Jimmy Clausen's Pro Day Makes Him a Near Top-10 Lock
The 2010 NFL Draft is now 13 days away. As private workouts and visits become an extreme in the upcoming week, executives and scouts everywhere saw the final Pro Day for all the quarterbacks in South Bend.
Prospect Jimmy Clausen was one of the few Notre Dame prospects that were present and showing off to NFL clubs.
However, the former three-year starter was the showcase of the workout.

Heading in, nobody was aware of his stock. Most analysts see him as a top-ten selection, landing with the Bills, the Raiders, or the Jaguars.
The St. Louis Rams, currently the owner of the top selection, are also a candidate. Not only were the Rams represented at the workout, but Clausen is scheduled to visit with the Rams next week.
Based on the tapes that were shown, along with the opinions of other experts, Clausen had a solid Pro Day.
Jimmy was 57-59 of his passing attempts, two of them were interceptions that were overthrown.
Clausen had no trouble with his arm strength, along with his accuracy (wasn't much of a problem in college).
The glaring issues? His injured toe, which according to Clausen, is only 75% healed.
The toe was a weakness during his workout, showing some pain in the foot, along with putting a ton of pressure on his other foot.
Clausen said he is going to visit his doctors on a checkup, to see how much he has progressed. He noted the last time they met was before the NFL Combine.
Here is my opinion on his workout: Overall, he showed good physical ability. He leaves the workout with no questions about his strength, nor his accuracy. The toe will be a hot topic when Clausen finishes his visits in the upcoming weeks.
The biggest questions on Clausen were his maturity and attitude, which the Rams and Bills will look heavily into during his visit.
My conclusion: Clausen will be a top-ten selection in this year's draft. The physical ability is there and the toe should be near full health around the start of training camp. The only issue could be his attitude, but it would have to be a huge red flag for a team to pass him up.
As the NFL draft approaches, it doesn't seem as if Clausen will have a major drop-off in this year's draft like former first-round picks Brady Quinn and Aaron Rodgers had to deal with on draft day.
