Michigan Friday: Time to Pay the Mountaineers
The University of Michigan's football coach, Rich Rodriguez, has his first payment of $500,000 to Western Viriginia University (WVU) on Monday.
This is the first of three annual payments from Rodriguez to WVU for his leaving the school to coach at Michigan.
How hard would it be to cut that check?

It's not like buying a house or giving money to your old place of employment because you wanted a better job. Between the cash Rodriguez and Michigan's basketball coach John Beilin are paying to WVU, you would think Michigan was opening up a satellite campus in West Virgina.
U of M Morgantown has a ring to it.
How about the the Beilein Rodriguez Business School?
One payment that came to light on the football college scene this week was with Lane Kiffin, former coach of Tennessee and the recently named coach of USC.
I think one of the mistakes Tennessee made was not making Kiffin's buyout much bigger. For USC, $800,000 is pocket change, but I'm sure the university didn't give it a second thought.
Now if it was $4 Million that might have been a different story.
While Michigan has been public about the payouts for their coaches, the university has been stealth lately on who their football recruits are outside the regular names.
However, one of those "stealth recruits" may visit Ann Arbor this weekend.
That guy is Demar Dorsey, an Army All-American and 4/5 star safety with an offer sheet from almost everyone. Dorsey seems to be favoring Florida, but is still looking around.
In other recruits, 2011 Columbus, Ohio recruit Ron Tanner the 2011 says that Michigan is currently leading for his services next year.
It will be an interesting recruiting season due to Michigan's quiet behavior.
Stay tuned.
